Meet Olivia
For the first time in my life I went shopping on Black Friday, and guess what? It wasn't crowded at all. A flyer from JoAnne's prompted me to do it. Dress forms were going to be on sale for half price on that day only. So I sallied forth. It was really pretty fun. There were lots of friendly crafters about, and a JoAnne's employee was handing out peppermints to everybody in the checkout line.
The new dress form was christened Olivia by the girls, and I must say she's a very co-operative model for blog pictures. She stands perfectly still and doesn't make a single goofy face. Nice!
Here she is sporting my new upcycle project. This thrift store denim skirt was fairly straight and ankle length with a slit up to the knee in the back. I cut it off just above the slit which took off 14 inches. Then I attached this gathered equestrian ruffle with a small horseshoe printed band.
